Breast cancer is a chronic disease with extended periods of dormancy. Generally  incurable.
Dormancy is when  a patient carries a residual tumor  which is clinically asymptomatic.
Cancer dormancy is manifested in any epidemiological statistic like the one which I l describe.
The analysis dears with Fig. 8 of a study by Early Breast Cancer Trialists’ Collaborative Group.

Tumor growth is the common denominator of all epidemiological statistics, and  even drives them.
Here I derive tumor growth from epidemiological statistics.

Declining hazard rate is an epidemiological hallmark of cancer. It is absent in other chronic diseases, like diabetes  mellitus or hypertension.
Cancer is more then just a tumor. It is an interaction between organism and tumor.
All cancers proceed through periods of dormancy.
Cancer dormancy is the norm..
